Where to stay in Santiago, Chile, depending on why you are going
Which Santiago neighborhood suits a business trip, sightseeing, a month-long stay or a family trip, based on the apartments we manage.
For a business trip, stay in Providencia or Las Condes. To walk the historic center, Santiago Centro (downtown), with Providencia in between. If you are staying a month, the apartment matters more than the neighborhood.
We manage more than 75 apartments in Santiago, most of them in Providencia and Las Condes, and some in Santiago Centro and Ñuñoa. This guide is based on what we know first-hand. There are good neighborhoods where we have no apartments, and they are not covered here.
| Reason for the trip | Where it makes sense |
|---|---|
| Work at Costanera Center, El Golf or Apoquindo Avenue | Providencia or Las Condes |
| Seeing the historic center | Santiago Centro or Providencia |
| A month or longer | Close to where you will spend your days |
| Family or group | Santiago Centro or Providencia, where most of our three-bedroom apartments are |
Business trips
Many of the city's corporate offices sit along Metro Line 1, between Providencia and Las Condes, around Costanera Center, El Golf and Apoquindo Avenue. All our apartments in Providencia are within 3 km of Costanera Center in a straight line. In Las Condes the range goes from half a kilometer to 7 km, because the district is long and not all of it is close to the office area.
Several apartments list a dedicated workspace and wifi, almost all of them in those two districts. See apartments for remote work and apartments near Costanera Center. There is a longer guide for business trips near Costanera Center.
Sightseeing
If you want to walk the historic center, Santiago Centro is the most direct option. From our downtown apartments, Plaza de Armas is between half a kilometer and 3 km away. Lastarria, Bellas Artes and La Moneda are within walking distance, and Metro Lines 1, 2, 3 and 5 all run through downtown. At night, stick to the well-lit avenues.
Providencia is 2 to 4.5 km from Plaza de Armas and Line 1 runs through it. You can go up Cerro San Cristóbal from Pío Nono or from Pedro de Valdivia Norte.
A month or longer
On a long stay what you notice most is whether there is a washer and where you will work. Some apartments have a washer inside and others a paid laundry room in the building, so check the listing.
Booking direct on mrbnb.cl, the nightly price drops 10% from 7 nights, 20% from 28 and 25% from 84, and the discount is applied automatically in the quote and at checkout. Cleaning is not discounted and nights in July and August get at most 10%. On Airbnb most of our apartments have a discount from 7 nights and a bigger one from 28. More in long stays in Santiago and companies and long stays.
Families and groups
We have several apartments with three bedrooms or room for six or more guests, mostly in Santiago Centro and Providencia, and a few in Las Condes. The list is at families and groups, and there is a separate guide to Santiago with kids or in a group.
What is the same everywhere
In most apartments check-in is from 15:00 and check-out is by 11:00; if one has different times, its listing says so. After booking you get the online check-in link, and before you arrive, the access instructions. If you land early you can leave your luggage for free at our office in Las Condes, from 9:30 to 18:00.
Support is on WhatsApp every day, at any hour. At night Mía, our AI assistant, replies, and during office hours the team does.
At mrbnb.cl/reservar you pick your dates and each apartment shows the total for your stay. The search is in English; the apartment pages and the checkout are still in Spanish. The apartments in each area are at Santiago by neighborhood.
