Booking direct with Mr BnB or on Airbnb, what is different

The apartments we manage are listed on Airbnb and can also be booked direct at mrbnb.cl/reservar. It is the same apartment, looked after by the same team. What changes is how you pay and who sits between you and us.

How you pay

On mrbnb.cl you pick the apartment and your dates, and before paying you see the total: the nights plus cleaning, which is charged once per stay. Prices are shown in US dollars with the approximate amount in Chilean pesos next to them.

Up to 27 nights you pay in Chilean pesos through an AlohaPay payment link, with Webpay, card or bank transfer, and the booking is confirmed once the payment clears. From 28 nights you pay by bank transfer, and the booking is held for 48 hours while we confirm the payment. The search is in English; the apartment pages and the checkout are still in Spanish, so write to us if anything is unclear.

On Airbnb you pay inside Airbnb, with its payment methods and in the currency it shows you.

The total

Booking direct there is no platform service fee, so the total is nights plus cleaning. On Airbnb, Airbnb puts the total together with its own fees, which depend on the dates and on your account. We cannot tell you in advance which one comes out cheaper, so compare the final total for your dates on both.

Long stays

Booking direct on mrbnb.cl, the nightly price drops 10% from 7 nights, 20% from 28 and 25% from 84. The discount is applied automatically in the quote and at checkout. Cleaning is not discounted and nights in July and August get at most 10%. On Airbnb, most of our apartments have a discount from 7 nights and a bigger one from 28; each listing shows its own. Reviews and support

We are Superhosts on Airbnb, and our guests' reviews are there. The apartment pages on mrbnb.cl link to them. Airbnb also has its own support and refund rules. If you book direct, you deal with us. You can cancel at no cost up to 7 days before arrival: we refund what you paid, minus the payment's transaction costs, if any.

Invoices and VAT

Our prices have no VAT (IVA) added, whether you book direct or on Airbnb. So for a foreign tourist there is no VAT to take off.

If you need a Chilean invoice (factura, which requires a Chilean tax ID, RUT), 19% VAT is added to the total and we issue it at the end of the stay. Tell us when you book. For a company outside Chile, the booking receipt is often enough.
